To Whom This May Concern:

Dear France, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Turkey, Egypt, Singapore:

I ask you, by the one that created you all, to allow my sisters to wear their headscarfs in all aspects of their lives, including government buildings, public schools, and on television. Your enforcement of such laws is despicable and only increases the tension between Muslims and your state. Such laws don’t promote unity at all; in fact, it discourages it by keeping Muslim women out of such places in which the headscarf is banned. Why not try teaching the public to accept the religious differences amongst their fellow citizens? Why not promote dialogue, understanding, and diversity amongst your citizens? Why not reach out to your fellow neighbors and try to understand and respect their decisions regarding their own personal religious choice? I warn you, by God, that enforcing such laws will ultimately cause you more problems in both this life and in the next. I pray that God, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise, and the Most Just, to guide you all to make the correct decision in this matter, that which is best for all of society.

Sincerely,

Nuruddeen D’Antoni De’Shaun Lewis.
